How do you ship? And how did you calculate your flat rate shipping?
We ship using USPS ground advantage Mondays, and Tuesdays. USPS ground advantage automatically comes with $100 of insurance in case anything happens to your purchase while in transit. In colder months we include a complimentary heat pack when you purchase a living product of ours. All of our packaging is biodegradable and should be composted or reused after arrival. Since it’s a one woman show it wasn’t efficient for me to price each package individually depending on weight and size of the package. We calculated the average cost for us to ship products and that became our flat rate shipping. If by chance the rate is more than what it costs to ship said items, you will be refunded the difference. However, if you spend over $75 on a single order then your shipping is free on us!
What if I need to change or cancel my order?
Please contact us at thenightshadeplant@gmail.com as soon as possible if you would like to change or cancel your order. We'll do our best to process your request. There's a human behind each response! Please allow up to 3 business days for us to get back to you.
What time do I need to pick up my order?
Orders placed as in-store pickup are available almost immediately and MUST be picked up in 3 days (72 hours) during the days we are open. Pickup hours are anywhere from 12pm-5pm Wednesday-Sunday. Please contact us at the thenightshadeplant@gmail.com as soon as possible if you need to cancel your order or schedule a different/exact pickup date and time. We are very flexible and accommodating to time and date changes.
How much will my tattoo cost?
Each artist’s rate is different depending on experience. We may be able to give rough estimates but please note these are just estimates and your tattoo may cost more or less than what was advised. We will do our best to work with your budget. Your appointment may be broken up into multiple sessions if requested.
Do you take tattoo walk-ins?
Tattoos are currently by appointment unless we have extra time to do walkins. If inquiring about a tattoo please visit our tattoo artist tab and fill out the inquiry form as directed.
How many people work at Nightshade?
Nightshade is a small family owned and operated business by partners Aleisha, the plants person and apprentice, and Joseph, the tattooist. Nightshade is not currently hiring for either side of their business.
How long until I hear a reply on my tattoo inquiry?
Please expect to wait longer than a couple of weeks to hear a reply. We ask everyone to be patient for existing clients are priority. Filling out multiple inquiries and sending messages through social media will not speed up the process. If you haven’t heard back for an extreme amount of time, chances are your request has been denied.
How come my tattoo request got denied/I haven’t heard anything back?
Tattoo inquiries are just that. It is not guaranteed that your request will get accepted or get a reply. Unfortunately there is not enough time to get to everybody’s project or respond to everyone’s inquiry. We ask everyone to look at our artists work and style before submitting a request to be sure it is a match.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment? Can me and my friend get tattooed at the same time?
If you and another member would like to schedule a tattoo appointment together please note that you will likely have the same artist so you will not be getting tattooed at the exact same time. Both potential clients will need to fill out an inquiry form and both put down a deposit. While your appointments may be back to back, no one is permitted in the tattooing area besides the client getting tattooed and the tattoo artist. To minimize distractions and over crowding friends, family, and partners may not attend your appointment. If you show up to your appointment with a guest who does not have a tattoo appointment, they will be asked to kindly leave.
Do you only do black and grey tattoos?
Joe is a colorblind artist and prefers to only use black and grey. Aleisha is currently doing black and grey and traditional colors (red, green, yellow.)
Do you do piercings?
We do not do piercings at Nightshade.
How old do you have to be to get tattooed?
You MUST be at least 18 years old to be tattooed in the state of Washington. We do not tattoo minors even with parental permission/supervision. Please bring a valid I.D. to your tattoo appointment.
Are you accepting new clients/Are your books open?
Joe’s custom booking will open roughly every other month but his books are always open for flash. Aleisha is now booking apprenticeship flash tattoos.
